A focused product for clearer conversations

About WAAudioToText

WAAudioToText turns WhatsApp voice messages into readable transcripts, helps translate what was said, and gives people a clearer path from conversation to action.

Why we built it

Important information should not be trapped inside a voice note

Voice messages are quick to send, but they are not always easy to use. A quiet place may not be available, a long recording takes time to replay, and a different language can hide names, quantities, dates or next steps.

  • Read a voice message when listening is inconvenient
  • Review long recordings without replaying every second
  • Translate a transcript while preserving the original context
  • Confirm names, numbers, dates and requested actions

We built WAAudioToText so people can read first, verify details, translate when needed and continue the conversation without moving work into a separate tool.

What we build

One workflow for understanding WhatsApp conversations

Each capability supports the same job: helping users turn voice and chat context into information they can understand and act on.

01

WhatsApp Audio To Text

Generate a readable transcript beside a supported WhatsApp voice message while keeping the original audio available for review.

02

Voice transcript translation

Translate the generated transcript into a familiar language and compare it with the original-language text before responding.

03

AI conversation context

Summarize supported recent text messages into key context and next actions. This is a separate workflow from audio transcription.

Product principles

Focused decisions, not a crowded feature list

01

Keep the workflow clear

Transcription, translation and context should appear where they help users understand the current conversation.

02

Put users in control

Processing runs when a user triggers or enables the relevant capability, with settings that reflect different conversations.

03

Describe boundaries honestly

We distinguish audio transcription from AI message summaries and avoid claims the released product cannot support.

04

Iterate around real problems

Product work starts with repeatable user needs such as reviewing long voice notes, foreign-language audio and important details.

How the product evolves

Feedback becomes a tested product decision

WAAudioToText evolves through a deliberately compact loop that keeps product behavior and public guidance aligned.

  1. 01

    Listen for the real friction

We look for recurring obstacles in voice transcription, translation and conversation review rather than chasing isolated requests.

  2. 02

    Validate against the live workflow

Ideas are checked against the current extension, WhatsApp Web behavior and the practical limits of the underlying services.

  3. 03

    Ship product and guidance together

Released capabilities, help content and support explanations are updated together so users know what to expect.

Trust and product boundaries

Clear about what the product does—and what it does not do

Trust begins with accurate expectations. Our public documentation explains when information is processed, which workflows are separate and where third-party platforms have their own terms.

  • Transcription, translation and summary capabilities run only when the relevant feature is triggered or enabled.
  • AI conversation summaries use supported recent text messages and media descriptions; they do not use voice audio to generate the summary.
  • WAAudioToText is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta.
